Some members of the data science community brought to my attention the sexism and ageism behind this popular trope. They are completely correct. As a woman, I would never want to undercut anyone in my community, especially femaleidentifying people, and/or older professionals. Without a doubt, us younger women could not have gotten to where we are today without the hard, and ofteninvisible, work of those before us.
