EarthQuake-Watcher

  • Developed an Android App for users to monitor the most updated global earthquake events happen in the past 7 days.
  • Design User Interface of custom info window and popup window

  • Fetched the real-time data in GeoJSON format from US Geological Survey Website API with Volley library.
  • Data scource: https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/feed/v1.0/geojson.php

    Develop Tools:

    • Language: Java
    • Lib: Volley
    • Develop Environment: Android Studio IDE 4.0.1, Android SDK v30, Google Map API

      Google key

      You will need to register a person Key for Google Map API for this project, go to API Console https://support.google.com/googleapi/answer/6158862?hl=en.
      And then Use your API key as the value for google_maps_key in the google_maps_api.xml file under the res/values directory. Mine is hidden here.
