Cool features over angular2 HttpClient

Install

npm install —save angular2-cool-http

Setup

  1. import { NgModule } from '@angular/core';
  2. import { CoolHttpModule } from 'angular2-cool-http';
  3. @NgModule({
  4. imports: [CoolHttpModule]
  5. })
  6. export class MyAppModule {}

Features

Global base url

CoolHttp’s api calls will always prefix your url with the baseUrl set (Great for cross origin websites)

  1. coolHttp.registerBaseUrl('https://my.api.com/');
  1. coolHttp.deRegisterBaseUrl();

Global withCredentials

CoolHttp’s api calls will always send cookies to cross domain requests (Great for cross origin websites)

  1. coolHttp.setWithCredentials(true);

Async Api calls

  • getAsync(url: string, options: RequestOptions): Promise
  • postAsync(url: string, data: any, options: RequestOptions): Promise
  • putAsync(url: string, data: any, options: RequestOptions): Promise
  • deleteAsync(url: string, options: RequestOptions): Promise
  • patchAsync(url: string, data: any, options: RequestOptions): Promise
  • headAsync(url: string, options: RequestOptions): Promise
  1. import { Component, OnInit } from '@angular/core';
  2. import { CoolHttp } from 'angular2-cool-http';
  3. @Component({
  4. selector: 'my-app'
  5. })
  6. export class AppComponent implements OnInit {
  7. coolHttp: CoolHttp;
  8. constructor(coolHttp: CoolHttp) {
  9. this.coolHttp = coolHttp;
  10. }
  11. async ngOnInit() {
  12. // await async api call
  13. let response = await this.coolHttp.getAsync('/api/request');
  14. console.log(response);
  15. // or simply chain Promise
  16. this.coolHttp.getAsync('/api/request')
  17. .then(response => {
  18. console.log(response);
  19. });
  20. }
  21. }

Observable api calls

  • getObservable(url: string, options: RequestOptions): Observable
  • postObservable(url: string, data: any, options: RequestOptions): Observable
  • putObservable(url: string, data: any, options: RequestOptions): Observable
  • deleteObservable(url: string, options: RequestOptions): Observable
  • patchObservable(url: string, data: any, options: RequestOptions): Observable
  • headObservable(url: string, options: RequestOptions): Observable

Global headers

CoolHttp’s api calls will always send these globally registered headers. (Great for authentication)

  1. import { CoolHttp, HttpHeader } from 'angular2-cool-http';
  2. coolHttp.registerGlobalHeader(new HttpHeader('MyHttpHeader', 'MyHeadersValue'));
  • registerGlobalHeader(header: HttpHeader): void
  • deregisterGlobalHeader(headerKey: string): boolean
  • removeAllRegisteredGlobalHeaders(): void

Request Interceptors

CoolHttp’s api calls will invoke the registered request interceptors before sending the request

  • registerRequestInterceptor(requestInterceptor: IRequestInterceptor): void
  • deregisterRequestInterceptor(requestInterceptor: IRequestInterceptor): boolean
  1. coolHttp.registerRequestInterceptor({
  2. beforeRequestAsync: function(url, method, data, headers) {
  3. return new Promise((resolve, reject) => {
  4. // do something
  5. // resolve with true to fully intercept request
  6. // resolve with false to let the request continue
  7. resolve(false);
  8. });
  9. }
  10. });

Response Interceptors

CoolHttp’s api calls will invoke the registered response interceptors after receiving the response

  • registerResponseInterceptor(responseInterceptor: IResponseInterceptor): void
  • deregisterResponseInterceptor(responseInterceptor: IResponseInterceptor): boolean
  1. coolHttp.registerResponseInterceptor({
  2. afterResponseAsync: function(url, method, data, headers) {
  3. return new Promise((resolve, reject) => {
  4. //do something
  5. // resolve with true to fully intercept the response handling
  6. // resolve with false to let the response handling continue
  7. resolve(true);
  8. });
  9. }
  10. });

You can configure CoolHttp to copy and send a cookie value in a custom http header.

  1. coolHttp.sendCookieValueInCustomHeader(cookieName, headerName);
